#Why Soma?
Why the title "Love is as Good as Soma"? It's the name of a song by the atmospheric gothic metal band Tiamat. The title and chorus are from Aldous Huxley's novel "Brave New World." In the novel, the citizens of a futuristic dystopia are kept mellow and compliant by a combination of endless, casual sex ('love') and recreational drugs ('soma').

Love is as good as soma

The song opens up with that line. Soma is a type of hallucinigenic mushroom often mixed in certain drinks. Love is as good as a hallucination, as a trip. To Stanley, Heather is like the drug that he needs to be happy.

Well, I'm no son of Aquarius
I think the world is too small for both of us

This would Stanley's ultimate goal for Heather; which is to kill her. In
his eyes there's nothing better he can do to save Heather/Alessa from birthing the God, but
kill her. The line about not being a son of Aquarius is Stanley's humbleness, he's stating that he is not a son of God, that he knows that compared to Alessa/Heather he is just a human. At the last line it's a note that Stanley wants to kill Heather and himself.

Stanley's dream relationship with Heather/Alessa. He longs to be held by her, and to kiss her, and to hold her. Again this is another note that Stanley views Heather as his drug.

The friends and sister part is a subtle note to Cheryl, Heather, Harry, and Claudia. All people who were important to Alessa. At the next point Stanley is so intoxicated by his love of Alessa/Heather that the world is spinning. Him and Alessa/Heather will soon become like angels flying free, but the only way this can happen is if Heather submits and allows Stanley to kill her.
